November 16, 2013 - Marian sweeps unbeaten Cochranton 25-16, 25-23, 25-17 to capture the PIAA Class 1A state volleyball championship. Tied at 15-15 in the opening set, Abby O’Donnell reels off eight straight service points - including three aces - to help gain an early advantage. Knotted at 21-21 in the second set, three kills by Maureen Kloap and an ace by Grace Boyle allow the Fillies to go ahead 2-0. In set No. 3, Kloap registers two kills and an ace as Marian jumps out to an early start and leads the entire way to clinch the match. Kloap finishes with 11 kills, while Abby Stankiewitch ends with nine. Boyle adds eight kills and 16 digs.
