Carbon County Planning Commission

Carbon County Planning Commission made recommendations on several subdivision plans during its August meeting earlier this month.

• Hauto Valley Estates Inc. and the Estate of Anna Kmetz received plan approval for a proposed subdivision at 190 State Route 54 in Nesquehoning. The plans call for subdividing a 0.287-acre lot off of a 3.842-acre lot owned by the Hauto Valley Estates and combining it with the 0.241-acre lot owned by the Estate of Anna Kmetz.

• Paul P. and Margaret E. Shinsec, owners; and William and Kathleen Merkel, trustees, received conditional plan rejection for a proposed subdivision and lot line adjustment at 1445 and 1665 Station St., Towamensing Township. The plans called for subdividing the Shinsec land into two lots and combining a 0.937-acre lot that was created by the subdivision with land owned by William and Kathleen Merkel to create a 2.791-acre lot. The reason for the rejection is due to property zoned rural conservation is required to have 3 acres as a minimum lot size.

• Sandro A. and Lynda M. Giordano received conditional plan approval for a proposed lot improvement at 35 Coyote Court, Pocono Mountain Lake Subdivision, Kidder Township. The plans call for combining two lots to create a new lot.

• Malvina Property Management received conditional plan approval for a proposed lot improvement at 25 Hunting Lane, Kidder Township. The plans call for combining three lots into one.

• Shelly L. Walck (Nicholson) and Doran J. Hill, received conditional plan approval for a proposed subdivision/lot line adjustment at 256/262 Forge St., Bowmanstown. The plan calls for subdividing a 0.467-acre lot owned by Hill into three lots and then combining two of the new lots with a 0.2352-acre lot owned by Walck to create a 0.3334-acre lot.

• Art Minissa and Susan T. Casper received conditional plan approval for a proposed lot consolidation at 47 Catawba Place, Pleasant Valley West, Section E, Penn Forest Township. The plan calls for combining two lots to create a new lot.
