Lehighton state police - DUI/drugs

State police at Lehighton released information on several driving under the influence and drug possession cases:

• Two people who were stopped by troopers for traffic violations are facing charges of driving under the influence.

John Bell, 35, of Lansdale, was stopped at 7:09 a.m. July 1 at the intersection of Interchange and Harrity roads in Franklin Township. Police said he was a “wrong way driver” in a 2009 Mercury Mountaineer.

• A 37-year-old Palmerton woman was stopped at 9:04 p.m. July 3 at the intersection of Penn Drive and Blakeslee Boulevard Drive West in West Penn Township. She was driving a 2019 Honda Accord when police stopped her for motor vehicle code violations.

• A 22-year-old man from Flushing, New York, is facing drug possession charges after a traffic stop made by state police.

Police said they stopped him in a 2013 Infiniti G35 at 6:17 p.m. July 2 for violations along Pohopoco Droive in Franklin Township and found him to be in possession of a controlled substance

• Kevin Rasimowicz, 50, of Albrightsville, is facing drug possession charges filed after a traffic stop at 4:08 p.m. June 21 at the intersection of Bridge and Park streets in Weissport.

Police said they stopped him for a traffic violation in a 2007 Ford F-150 and it was determined he had suspected methamphetamines on the front seat of the truck.

• James Gaudio, 26, of Jim Thorpe, was arrested by state police on charges of driving under the influence after they stopped him at 1:45 a.m. May 28 on West Front Street in Jim Thorpe.

Police said he was driving a 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee when they noticed him committing multiple Motor Vehicle Code violations and later determined he was under the influence of alcohol.

• A 35-year-old Bethlehem man is facing charges of driving under the influence after state police received an erratic driver report at 6:33 p.m. July 5.

Police said the man was located in a 2009 Audi at the intersection of Interchange Road and Woodchuck Drive in Towamensing Township and was observed committing multiple violations, after which time it was determined he was driving under the influence of drugs.
