State police at Lehighton - crashes

State police at Lehighton released information on area crashes:

• Jeffrey A. Morey, 57, and Janeice A. Morey, 55, of Albrightsville, were injured when a motorcycle they were riding struck a deer at 4:12 p.m. June 24 on Scenic Drive in Polk Township.

Police said Janeice Morey was transported by MedEvac to the St. Luke’s Hospital, Carbon Campus, Franklin Township. Jeffrey Morey was not transported.

Police said he was driving a 2014 Harley-Davidson.

• No one was injured but a car had to be towed from the scene of an accident at 8:19 p.m. June 20 on the Silver Springs Boulevard in Eldred Township.

• Police said Susan A. King, 62, of Kunkletown, was driving the 2016 Volkswagen Tiguan when a deer entered its path near the intersection with the Kunkletown Road.

Police said the car sustained moderate front-end damages and came to rest on the southbound shoulder of the road after striking the deer.

• Makayla R. Harmon, 18, of Pen Argyl, had minor injuries in a one-vehicle crash at 9:05 p.m. June 12 on Jonas Road in Polk Township.

Police said she was treated at the scene by personnel from the West End Ambulance but refused a medical transport.

Police said she was driving a 2004 Jeep Liberty southbound when she attempted to turn left onto the Jonas Road. She lost control of the vehicle and it traveled off the south shoulder on the road and struck a tree.

The vehicle sustained disabling damages and was towed from the scene.

Police said Harmon was cited for failure to drive at a safe speed.

• Kevin J. Scaggs II, 33, of Saylorsburg, was cited for a license violation after a crash at 11:51 a.m. July 1 on Weir Mountain Road, Eldred Township.

Police said he sustained suspected minor injuries and was transported by personnel from MedEvac to the Lehigh Valley Hospital-Pocono, East Stroudsburg.

Police said he was operating a 2001 Honda CBR600 racing motorcycle southbound when he failed to maintain his lane and traveled into a ditch.

The cycle had to be towed from the scene, police said.

• Deborah L. Huber, 62, of Kunkletown, was injured in a two-vehicle crash at 1:46 p.m. June 29 at the intersection of Forest Inn and Interchange roads in Towamensing Township.

Police said she was transported by personnel from the Lehighton Ambulance Association to the St. Luke’s Hospital, Carbon Campus, Franklin Township, where she was treated for a neck injury.

Police said she was driving a 2003 Ford Explorer that was struck from behind by a 2015 GMC Sierra driven by Jesse J. Neff II, 42, of Lehighton. He was uninjured.

Police said both vehicles were northbound on Forest Inn Road and Neff failed to observe Huber stopped her vehicle before pulling out onto Interchange Road due to traffic. He was cited for the collision.

Police said the Sierra had minor damages while the Explorer had damages to its left rear bumper, hatch, rear window and rear quarter panel.
