Northern Lehigh School Board approved the following personnel matters last week:

• Revised the retirement date for Arthur Kuntz, originally approved on the May 8 board agenda.

• Ziad Hadad, professional employee, math/SS teacher, middle school, $63,575, effective Aug. 22.

• Abigail Merkel, temporary professional employee, Science teacher, middle school, $54,550, effective Aug. 22.

• Jenna Martin, temporary professional employee, English Language Development Program, K-12, $54,650, effective Aug. 22.

• Jamie Heydt, Bookkeeper II, $35,000, effective June 5.

• Jamie Farber, substitute teacher caller, $10,000, effective Aug. 21.

• Gigi Gonzales and Pricilla Martell, full-time custodians, $17.20 an hour, effective June 19.

• Administrative transfer of Kelly Nikisher from custodian, Slatington Elementary, to custodian, middle school, and Nancy Scheckler from custodian, high school (Tuesday-Saturday) to custodian, high school (Monday-Friday), no change in salary, effective June 12.

• MaryAnn Mattiola, instructor, Summer Learning Program ELDP/Extracurricular Instructor Summer 2023, Collective Bargaining Agreement current rate per hour, completion of program premium pay up to $1,000.

• Tim Weaber, Bulldog Academy Facilitator, Bulldog Academy Summer School Program, CBA current rate per hour, completion of program premium pay up to $1,000.

• Jessica Jackovitz, substitute, Open Horizons Summer Program 2023, current rate per hour.• Amended the motion approved on May 8 and approve to continue to employ Jenn Haas as transportation paraprofessional for a student. The extended school year runs June 26-Aug. 4. Also approved compensation for five hours per day at Haas’ agreed upon 2022-2023 and 2023-2024 hourly rate plus the completion program premium pay of $750.

• Professional employee status to Ryan Cunningham, Katlyn Kocis, and Gabrielle Werkheiser for satisfactorily completing three years of service to the district.

• Jose Batista, Braden Marzen, Austin Rex and Christopher Taveras as summertime maintenance/custodial helpers for the summer of 2023 at a rate of $12.50 an hour.

• To schedule training for new substitute caller, Jamie Farber, to be delivered by retiring substitute caller, Shelly Pender, at a stipend of $100 per person.

• Request of an employee to take a medical leave of absence for health reasons, effective May 12. The employee is still in probationary status and doesn’t have any paid time off available to use.

• Acknowledged that teacher Katlyn Kocis has completed the requirements that would entitle her to a salary increase for the 2023-2024 school year.

• Crystal Buck to receive a salary increase to $22.61 an hour, for performing head cook duties effective May 16 to June 3 to cover for an employee on medical leave.
