Pennsylvania officials announced the Route 209 bridge that spans the borough of Weissport will be dedicated to the memory of late Rep. Thomas J. McCall of Summit Hill.

McCall proved successful in a determined effort to have extensive repairs done to the bridge four years ago, it having received a complete deck replacement at a cost of $1.9 million before its reopening on Oct. 30, 1981.

McCall served as a state legislator from 1974 until his untimely death on Christmas Eve in 1981.
