Educators honored at association’s meeting

The Carbon County Pennsylvania Association of School Retirees recently held its meeting at Carbon Career & Technical Institute, Jim Thorpe.

During the meeting the association presented various awards. The Educational Support Grant winners are: Hal Resh, Carbon Career & Technical Institute, whose students are converting a 1948 Jeep to war era condition: Kerry Kokinda, Lehighton, getting more technology to use in math projects; Mary Ann Slayza, Lehighton, Consumer Sciences, to work with Blended Bakery to demonstrate useful skills; and Lori Davis, Weatherly, 3D Printing for student designs needed to run a small business.

The Dillon recipient for 2022 was Gloria Bowman; the VOY was Martha Cox for her work on the book bag project, her church work, etc.; The Loretta Woodson Awards were presented to Maritza Reinbold and Heather Cassidy, both of CCTI.
