State Police at Lehighton - DUI/Drug cases

State police at Lehighton reported on driving under the influence and drug cases:

• A 48-year-old Lehighton man is facing charges of driving under the influence of a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance after a traffic stop.

Police said they stopped the driver for a traffic violation at 3:03 a.m. April 13 at the intersection of Allen and Lime streets in Weissport.

• Police said the driver of a vehicle they stopped for a traffic violation at 1:14 a.m. April 19 was found to be under the influence of alcohol.

Police said they stopped the vehicle at the intersection of Route 209 ad Baxters Bend in Chestnuthill Township.

• A 19-year-old Bath man is facing drug possession charges after a traffic stop at 1:06 p.m. April 8 on Route 248 in Franklin Township.

• A 19-year-old man is facing charges of driving under the influence of alcohol after a traffic stop at 12:33 a.m. April 1.

Police said they stopped him for Motor Vehicle Code violations at the intersection of Preacher’s Camp and Interchange roads in Towamensing Township.

• A 58-year-old Palmerton man is facing charges of driving under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance after a one-vehicle crash at 9:51 p.m. March 23.

It happened on Route 248 in Lower Towamensing Township when he was driving a 2016 Buick Envision.

Police said he sustained suspected minor injuries but refused a transport.

• Police cited Brandi Haley, 48, of Saylorsburg, for driving under the influence after a motorists who was following her vehicle contacted police about the erratic manner in which she was driving.

Police said she was stopped at 9:12 p.m. April 8 at the intersection of Spruce Hollow Road and Beers Lane in Towamensing Township. In addition to DUI, she was cited for Motor Vehicle Code violations.

• A 30-year-old Lehighton man is facing a charge of driving under the influence of a controlled substance following a traffic stop.

Police said they stopped him at 3:10 a.m. April 14 while he was driving a 2007 Volvo for a Motor Vehicle Code violation, after which time they found him to be impaired.

• Police were summoned to Interchange Road in Towamensing Township at 10:06 a.m. April 10 after drugs were found.

Police said a clear zippered bag containing suspected marijuana was found.

• A 40-year-old man from Port Jefferson, New York, is facing charges of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia after a traffic stop.

Police said he was stopped for traffic violations while driving a 2019 Honda Accord at 11:12 a.m. April 3 at the intersection of Interchange and Hazlewood roads in Towamensing Township.

• Police arrested two Lehighton males, ages 16 and 19, on drug possession charges after a traffic stop they made at 3:39 p.m. March 29 on Pine Street in Mahoning Township.

Police said they stopped the vehicle for Title 75 violations. The two were in possession of THC wax and related paraphernalia.

• A 31-year-old Palmerton man is facing charges of driving under the influence of alcohol after a traffic stop.

Police said they stopped him for a traffic violation at 1:59 a.m. April 15 at the intersection of Little Gap and Lower Smith Gap roads in Lower Towamensing Township.

• A 33-year-old woman is facing charges of driving under the influence of a controlled substance after a traffic stop. Police said they stopped the woman at 8:27 p.m. April 11 at the intersection of Interchange and Hideaway Hill roads in Polk Township.
