Weatherly church to host founder of African children’s organization

Faith Church Weatherly will host a special guest speaker as part of the church’s upcoming mission to Africa this summer.

Dr. Charles Mutua Mulli, founder of Mully Children’s Family in Kenya, Africa, will speak on Sunday during the church’s evening service starting at 6 p.m.

Faith Church is located at 202 Carbon St.

Mully Children’s Family is a Christian charitable organization that works with disadvantaged persons to transform their lives and enable them to lead dignified livelihoods. The foundation of Mully Children’s Family and its mission is a reflection of true-life experiences of Mulli as a child and his desire to make the world fit for every child.

Mulli was born in 1949 in Kangundo, Machakos, Kenya, and experienced a debilitating childhood after being abandoned by his family at 6 years old. He spent his childhood and adolescence begging to survive and scraping out a meager existence while trying to come to terms with his abusive past.

At 16, Mulli contemplated suicide but was saved when he found Jesus. Over the next several years, he worked and in 1989 founded the Mully Children’s Family.
