A different kind of gym

What was once a grocery store on Erin Lane in Brodheadsville, is now the Battlefield Pro Wrestling Performance Center.

Opening the gym a little over a year ago, Afa Anoa’i the owner said, “When I looked at the building I knew it would be perfect for my gym, and pro wrestling performance center.”

After 23 years of wrestling, the WWE star said it was time to give back to the wrestling world and follow in his father’s steps.

“My father is one of the most successful trainers in the professional wrestling world and I want to carry on the family tradition,” he said.

Anoa’i has training programs for anyone that would like to learn the sport and try to compete in WWE wrestling.

“Not every one that walks through the gym door wants to become a pro wrestler,” he said. I have a doctor, a lawyer and several others that come to train, but not everyone wants to compete but they enjoy the training. If they want to go for it, I will do what ever training they need to succeed.”

Originally from Bethlehem, Anoa’i is happy he can share the love of his sport so close to home. His daughter and son both train and help out at the gym.

Battlefield Pro Wrestling Performance Center is open 24 hours, seven days a week and has a fully equipped gym.
