January 18, 1952 - Denny Roth breaks the Lehighton single-game scoring record as the Indians defeat Slatington 83-59 in a Lehigh Valley League contest. Roth finishes with 35 points to break the old mark of 32, which was set by his coach George Bibighaus in 1941. Roth connects on 12 shots from the floor and 11 from the free throw line. Lehighton, which jumps out to a 19-8 first-quarter advantage, also receives 21 points from Joel Samuelson and 15 from Connie Lentz. For the Slaters, Bill Braerman ends with a team-high 19 points.
