Chestnuthill Twp. trying to resolve nuisance property

Chestnuthill Township supervisors this week discussed the ongoing violations on the John Mickens property on the corner of Westbrook Road and Cameron Road.

Mickens received a nuisance notice due to his garbage that littered his entire property and did not follow through with cleaning the property up.

At the Oct. 4, 2022 Chestnuthill supervisors meeting a motion was made by supervisor Eric Snyder and seconded by Chairman Chuck Gould to approve the advertisement for Mickens appeal hearing at 5 p.m. Oct. 18, and a hearing decision was entered on Nov. 15.

“The outcome of the supervisors was to try to talk to his daughter and get him to hire a contractor to remove the junk in a timely manner and if he didn’t comply the township would have to hire or bid the work out and then we would be charging Mickens 110% of the cleanup costs,” Gould said.

The supervisors and Manager David Albright plan to try to resolve the problem in the coming week.
