Credit default actions

Portfolio Recovery Associates, LLC, Norfolk, Virginia, has filed four actions against parties that it claims have defaulted on credit card accounts.

Named as defendants, and the amounts of the judgments the plaintiff is seeking against them, are: Russell Crouch, 730 Pine Run Road, Lehighton, $1,372.32; Shannon Kane, 11 Rhododendron Circle, Jim Thorpe, $659.44; Scott Russell, 204 W. Columbus Ave., Nesquehoning, $722.91; and Megan Thornborrow, 121 E. Garibaldi Ave., Nesquehoning, $769.04.

Mortgage foreclosures

The Truist Bank, formerly known as the Branch Banking and Trust Company, Greenville, South Carolina, has filed a mortgage foreclosure complaint against Kathryn A. Bobal, 74 Tamaqua St., Beaver Meadows, over a property at that address. Sought is judgment in the amount of $32,714.82, plus costs and attorney’s fees.

The Freedom Mortgage Corporation, Fishers, Indiana, has filed a mortgage foreclosure complaint against Michael A. Kupec, 211 E. McMurtrie St., Summit Hill, over a property at that address. Sought is judgment in the amount of $57,082.67, plus costs.

Lakeview Loan Servicing, LLC, Coral Gables, Florida, has filed a mortgage foreclosure complaint against Shad E. Light, 265 Mill Road, Lehighton, over a property at that address. Sought is judgment in the amount of $83,710.19, plus attorney’s fees, interest and costs.

The Bank of New York Mellon, Greenwood Village, Colorado, has filed a mortgage foreclosure complaint against Charles Earley Jr., 509 E. Bertsch St., Lansford, over a property at that address. Sought is judgment in the amount of $24,869.54, plus interest, costs and attorney’s fees.

Specialized Loan Servicing, LLC, Greenwood Village, Colorado, has filed a mortgage foreclosure complaint against David Sommers, 134 E Ludlow St., Summit Hill, over a property at that address. Sought is judgment in the amount of $46,324.23, plus interest, costs and attorney’s fees.

Credit default suits

Cavalry SPV, LLC, Greenwich, Connecticut, has filed a credit card default suit against Heather L. McClure, 237 Reppert Lane, Parryville. Sought is judgment in the amount of $3,441.32, plus costs.

Cavalry also filed an action against Veronica A. Kulp, 221 N. Third St., Lehighton. Sought is judgment in the amount of $1,320.90, plus costs.

Action to quiet title

David Keller, 183 Jean Drive, Brodheadsville, has filed an action to quiet title against Vicki Stack, Springfield, Virginia, Lori Bruce, Alexandra, Virginia, and Jon Kunkle, Plymouth, Massachusetts.

The plaintiff states he purchased a property at 1437 Grist Drive, Weatherly (Packer Township), at a Carbon County Tax Claim Bureau sale held on Sept. 26, 2022, that was previously owned by Edward J. and Linda L. Kunkle, who have since passed away leaving the property in their estate, to which the defendants are heirs.

Keller is asking the court to enter an order stating he is the legal owner of the property and enjoining the heirs from having or claiming any right to the property.

Transcripts of judgment

LVNV Funding, LLC, Canonsburg, has placed on record a judgment in its favor against Joshua Paulshock, 80 New St., Beaver Meadows. The judgment in the amount of $1,090.21 was ordered by MDJ Joseph D. Homanko Sr., Weatherly, on Jan. 10, 2022.

The Miller Funeral Home, 137 Fairview St., Lehighton, has placed on record a judgment in its favor against Melissa C. McGowan, 417 S. Third St., Lehighton. The judgment in the amount of $7,595.53 was ordered by MDJ William J. Kissner, Palmerton, on Oct. 13.

State tax lien filed

The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Department of Labor and Industry, has filed a state tax lien against S. Anne Taylor, trading as The Pocono Merry Mair, 7 Wahoo Court, Albrightsville.

The lien is in the amount of $1,610.14 and represents employer withholding taxes owed by the plaintiff.

Federal tax lien

The Internal Revenue Service has filed a federal tax lien against Zayco Construction, Inc., 326 Wild Creek Drive, Jim Thorpe.

The lien is in the amount of $6,338.59 and represents 1120 and 941 taxes owed by the plaintiff for 2018, 2020 and 2021.
