A three-alarm fire broke out early Saturday morning in the 700 block of Williams Avenue in Walnutport.

Homes at 715 and 723 Williams Ave. were damaged, displacing 6 people, including two children.

Fire companies from Carbon, Lehigh and Northampton counties were called to the scene just before 4 a.m.

The fire was reported to have started from Lithium batteries in the garage at No. 715.

A cat was lost in the fire but a dog made it out.

The Red Cross is helping the families who are affected.
