Abigail R. Benner, 32, of Lansford, suffered minor injuries in a three-vehicle crash at 5:35 p.m. Dec. 13 on Route 183 in Wayne Township, Schuylkill County.

State police at the Schuylkill Haven barracks said she was transported to the Lehigh Valley Hospital-East, Pottsville. A passenger in her vehicle, Michelle Lupola, 31, of Taylor, Michigan, was also taken there for what police said were suspected minor injuries.

Police said the crash occurred when a 2017 Subaru Outback driven by Jody C. Heffner, 51, of Schuylkill Haven, “rear-ended” a 2021 Toyota RAV4 driven by Benner, pushing it into the rear of a 2020 Honda Civic operated by John A. Burke, 77, of Saint Clair. All three vehicles were northbound on Route 183 at the time.

Police said Heffner had minor injuries but they did not require a transport to the hospital.

The Outback and the Rav4 were towed from the scene.

Heffner was cited for following too closely, police said.
