Lansford to pay $2,000 to extradite man from Fla.

Lansford Council this week approved the payment of $2,000, which is one third of the $6,122 cost to transport a prisoner, Xavier Olivero, from the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office, Palmetto, Florida.

Olivero is wanted for robbery with threat of serious injury; criminal conspiracy engaging - robbery-threat; aggravated assault, with attempts to cause SBI or causes injury with extreme indifference, two counts of simple assault, and theft. The charges are from a home invasion that occurred Aug. 8 on West Abbott Street.

Olivero is also wanted on charges from the Pennsylvania Game Commission stemming from an incident in June 2021 in Nesquehoning.

The details of the case are not available because the case is inactive until Olivero is formally arraigned.

The deadline to pay the fee is Dec. 8. The Manatee Sheriff’s office will only hold Olivero until that date. If the fee is not paid, the borough loses its chance to bring him back to the area to face charges.

The rest of the fee is being split between the Pennsylvania Game Commission and another entity.
