Golden Agers

The Panther Valley Golden Agers met on Oct. 10 with 18 members in attendance. President Diane Gould opened the meeting with the reading “Let’s Take A Walk.” A moment of silence was observed for Francis Mongi. Dec. 11 will be the group Christmas party at DiMaggio’s in Tamaqua.

The group meets the second and fourth Monday of each month at the St. Ann Senior Apts., Lansford at 1 p.m. Anyone 55 and older is invited to attend.

Nesquehoning Historical Society

The Nesquehoning Historical Society will hold a bus trip to Lancaster on Nov. 12.

Motor coach bus will leave the CVS parking lot at promptly 8 a.m. Those going are asked to be there at 7:45 a.m.

The group will travel to Lancaster to visit Wheatland, the home of James Buchanan, the 15th President of the United States.

While there they will also visit the Lancaster History Museum, Kitchen Kettle Village and an Amish home where the group will receive a home-cooked meal.

The bus will return to Nesquehoning by 8 p.m.

The trip costs $75 per person.
