Blessing of the Animals: Oct. 2 at 2 p.m. Outdoor service to bless our beloved pets. Please bring pets on leashes or in carriers.

Pork & Sauerkraut Supper: Nov. 5 from 4-6 p.m. Takeout only. Meal includes dessert.

All Saints Sunday Service: Nov. 6. Service will commemorate those who have passed on before us.

Thanksgiving Eve Service: Nov. 23 at 7 p.m.

Blue Christmas Service: Dec. 21 at 7 p.m.

Trinity Happenings

First Saturday worship with Holy Communion at Trinity Lutheran Church, 175 S. 3rd St., Lehighton, begins at 5 p.m. Holy Communion is served by continuous line with wafer placed in your open hand, and wine or grape juice in a small cup. Gluten free wafers are available to those with allergy issues.

Sunday worship with Holy Communion begins 9:30 a.m. Masks are optional. The Rev. Nancy L. Moore presides. Coffeehouse fellowship follows the worship service in Luther Hall.

Weekly Sunday Church School for students ages 3 though grade 6 begins at 10:45 a.m. Confirmation class for seventh and eighth grade students is at the same time.

First Tuesday worship Quiet Communion without musical accompaniment is Oct. 4, at 11 a.m.

The Trinity Thrift Store is open without reservations. Shopping and drop-off hours are Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Thursday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Donation drop-offs are accepted during store hours, limited to five bags or boxes. The Food Pantry continues to be open Tuesdays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and the third Tuesday from 5:30-7 p.m. with an outdoor drive-up setting and precautionary measures in place. Residents in need who reside in the Lehighton Area School District are eligible to receive prepackaged supplemental food items. Participants must remain in their vehicle at time of pick up. Pantry volunteers will assist pedestrians/those not in vehicles.

For those desiring to schedule a baptism or seek membership at Trinity, please contact the church office to register in-advance for the instruction sessions. Baptismal class will be held on the third Sunday at 1 p.m. Overview for prospective new members is held on the 4th Sunday at 1 p.m. with Pastor Moore.

Blessing of the Animals takes place as a drive-through opportunity Oct. 2 from noon-1 p.m. Please enter your vehicle in front of Jack and Jill Preschool on Iron Street. Anyone is welcome to bring their pet, or photo or ashes of deceased pet, or cherished family item. Pastor Moore will offer a Blessing or Prayer of Remembrance.

Class of 1968

The Lehighton Class of 1968 will meet to continue planning the 55th class reunion at 9 a.m. on Oct. 6 at the Phifer Ice Dam pavilion.
