To the Editor:

I am writing in reference to the article “Carbon reacts to Wild’s remarks about Trump vote.” I have met and spoken with Susan Wild and found her to be a good listener. She was sincere and eager to hear about the issues that matter to Carbon County residents like me. She did not come into our listening session with some “liberal agenda.”

Susan Wild is right that Carbon deserves leaders who will put us first. I am less interested in her offhand comments about Carbon, and more interested to know what she will do to help those of us on fixed incomes and my hardworking neighbors. Susan is a person of very good character, someone who puts the working class before the rich and big-business interests. She will work with our community to create manufacturing jobs and support our workforce.

While her opponent was closing down a manufacturing plant in Lansford, Susan has brought good investments to the counties she’s been serving. The record is there to see. She has been working to create manufacturing jobs, make housing and apprenticeship programs more affordable - so our young people will stick around. And she’s against privatization of Social Security and Medicare. All this serves Carbon County well.
