A new 55-and-older active senior living community in Lehighton is accepting resident applications.

Country Luxury Suites LLC, an active and worry-free senior living facility at 65 E. Lizard Creek Road, is now open.

Country Luxury Suites welcomes seniors 55-plus, specializing in upscale independent active senior living, said Jim Christman, president and CEO of The Jim Christman Team in Palmerton.

Christman said the senior living facility is the former Pleasant Trees Assisted Living Facility, which was a casualty of COVID-19. He sold the property to the current owner, who spent the better part of last year renovating.

“We feel it will suit the needs of those who want to live independently in very nice comfort with very few hassles,” Christman said. “There’s no facility like it in the whole county; this particular location suited it perfectly.”

Managed by Yvette’s Property Management LLC of Lehighton, Christman said it offers a “lifestyle where they can live independently and get to know other people. There’s a lot of joint space there that they can share.”

“It’s pretty much all new, completely redone,” he said. “Everything is included.”

Christman said a ribbon-cutting ceremony and open house to celebrate its grand opening will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. today.

“There’s 15 suites available,” he said. “Just from word-of-mouth, we’ve had a tremendous amount of interest right away, so we’re trying to encourage people to come to the open house.”

Christman said there will be food, and visitors will be shown all the suites.

“They’re all top-notch,” he said of the suites. “If someone wants a unit that day, we have a commitment form for them to fill out that day; then it’s just a matter of getting the lease together and working it up for them.”

Christman said it’s affordable and all-inclusive, offering a wide array of amenities such as Wi-Fi and on-site laundry facilities along with all utilities.

He said that with a variety of first floor only suite styles to choose from, each with its own personal kitchen, there is something to suit every lifestyle and preference.

Christman said that for special events and holidays, residents can enjoy freshly prepared meals in the common dining area.

He said active residents remain healthy with full access to the fitness center, and are encouraged to engage with each other in one of the several on-site activity areas.

Christman said outdoorsy residents will find solace in the community garden or relaxing next to the babbling brook.

He added that residents of Country Luxury Suites are free of the hassle of daily obligations allowing for time to socialize, take advantage of the scenic beauty, and spend time enjoying the activities that fit their lifestyle.
