Palmerton girl, 6, to make television debut this summer

An upcoming child actress from Palmerton will make her television debut this summer.

Taelynn Wolf, 6, is set to appear in “City on Fire,” which is currently in production.

The new series is expected to be out by summer, and will be on Apple TV.

A kindergartner at Palmerton Parkside Elementary, Taelynn started her career at the age of 5.

“She is an upcoming child actress who can’t wait to pursue her career,” said her mother, Samantha Wolf.

Samantha said Taelynn signed up with Look Model and Acting Agency, and then Image International.

“As she had profiles on each of their websites, Todd Feldman (casting director) from NYC reached out and said that Taelynn would be a perfect fit for a new series,” she said. “He has been an awesome help and states that he wants to keep her mind for other projects that may come our way.”

Samantha said Taelynn is currently in New York filming one of the episodes for the series.

She said that most of the time, Taelynn doesn’t need to be there until 1 or 2 p.m.

So, how exactly does a 6-year-old manage to balance her schoolwork with acting?

“If she had filming two days or more in a row, then we end up spending the night in the city, which she really enjoys and loves seeing all the light,” Samantha said. “While on set, she does have a tutor that does schoolwork with her throughout the day.”

Samantha said the way it works is a film will be rehearsed over and over, and then while cameras and lights are getting set up, Taelynn is required to do tutoring.

“It has to be a minimum of 20 minutes at a time,” she said. “If it takes only 10-15 minutes for set up, then the cast actually waits until her 20 minutes are up to bring her back on film.”

Samantha said that Look Model and Acting Agency have been extremely helpful with finding jobs for Taelynn.

“Taelynn modeled for Nuna baby, which is a high end car seat/high chair company,” she said. “That was actually her first job she ever did and was in love with it and the crew was shocked that she did so well on her first booking.”

Just like any other child, Taelynn has plenty of other interests, Samantha said.

“Taelynn loves cheerleading for the Palmerton Bombers, and is currently taking swimming lessons, which has been an interest to her since she was 4,” she said. “She enjoys art class in school, saying that it’s her favorite time of the week.”

Samantha couldn’t help but share her excitement when speaking of Taelynn’s achievements.

“I am extremely proud of her,” she said. “I never thought that my 6-year-old would get recruited that fast.”

Samantha added that she loves to hear Taelynn’s reaction when she tells her they have filming or photo shoots.

“The director of the film, Jesse Perez, was also quite shocked on how well she is doing as this is her first acting job,” she said. “Makes me a proud mom.”

Taelynn is the oldest of three siblings.

She is the daughter of Samantha and Christopher Wolf of Palmerton.
