A spectacular drive-thru light show is set to launch next month in Jim Thorpe.

Lights at the Lake will debut on Dec. 3 at Mauch Chunk Lake Park, 625 Lentz Trail.

From that point, it will run Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays through Jan. 2 with the exception of Dec. 24, 25 and Jan. 1, which will be closed due to those date being holidays.

Tickets cost $20 per vehicle per each night, and can be purchased at www.lightsatthelake.com.

Lights at the Lake will be a drive-thru light show that will feature brilliant holiday displays throughout picturesque Mauch Chunk Lake Park.

Raising the House will run the holiday event on weekends from Dec. 3 until New Year’s weekend. It will also be available from 6-10 p.m. Dec. 23.

The route is about a one-mile long path at the lake and takes about 15-20 minutes to drive through, according to Tamara House, Raising the House board member.

“The Chamber of Commerce is so excited that we are doing this,” House said. “They know it’s going to add to that Christmas experience in Jim Thorpe.”

However, House urged those who plan to attend to check the schedule at www.lightsatthelake.com and check out the FAQ menu option.

“Make sure to check the schedule,” she said. “There are dates leading into Christmas where we are closed down.”

House noted that Raising the House, a 501c3 organization based in the Palmerton area, is seeking sponsorships for the event.

“We have different levels of sponsorship,” she said, adding they can be referenced at www.lightsatthelake.com, Raising the House Facebook page and Raising the House Instagram page, or message them.

House said the event will be strictly run by all volunteers, and that any organization that would like to supply volunteers to earn some money for their organization, may contact raisingthehouse.org, raisingthehouse@gmail.com, or message them through Facebook or Instagram. She said all volunteers must be 18 years of age or older.

“It’s part of the Christmas experience in the Jim Thorpe area,” she said.

“Everybody is super excited about the event.”

The Carbon Chamber Economic Development Corporation invites guests to join them Dec. 12 at Lights on the Lake.
