D-11 postpones Hall of Fame banquet

The District 11 Hall of Fame Committee announced Wednesday that it would once again be postponing its Induction Ceremony in October for the Class of 2020. The event will now take place on April 3, 2022.

“The decision was based on the uncertainty that currently exists with the delta variant as well as the desire to be able to have a first class, awesome event for the inductees, their families, and their friends,” said District 11 Chairman Bob Hartman. “We are hoping this delay will be our final one and we can induct this class in April. We will induct another class in October.

“Please bear with us as we navigate through all of this with the goal of providing an awesome event.”

Hartman said any ticket requests and payments will be immediately returned.

Marian’s Stan Dakosty and Tamaqua’s Cindy Miller are two of 12 inductees that were selected to the District 11 Hall of Fame Class of 2020.

Inductees were selected from nominations made by member schools, officials’ chapters, and media membership. Nominees are selected by their accomplishments on the high school level and are not inclusive of accomplishments outside of high school athletics.
