Anita Shapolsky Art Foundation holds new exhibit

The Anita Shapolsky Art Foundation, 20 W. Broadway, Jim Thorpe, will hold an Abstract Work by Contemporary Pennsylvania Artists from Sunday through Aug. 22.

The opening of the event will be Sunday from 2-5 p.m., so that local residents can view the exhibition that is especially for them and not only for the tourists.

There are some people what have never been to the gallery since it opened in 1985.

“We hope that they come with their families,” the foundation stated.

See the entire collection of the foundation of artists who are in major museums in America and around the world. Refreshments will be served.

Exhibiting artists include Aillinn Brennan, Milt Friedly, Claire Louise Giblin, Ryan Hnat, Jerome Hershey, Sarah MacNeill and Brant Schuller.

The exhibition center is housed in the renovated former Presbyterian church, that dates to the 1850s and has the original stained glass windows.

The center’s hours are from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays and by appointment.
