The Carbon County Art League isn’t letting the pandemic get in the way of its annual art show.

The league recently announced that the 39th annual art show will be held virtually this year.

The show will begin on May 8 and showcased online.

According to the event’s website, the event is open to all art league members, who can submit their work for sale or to showcase. This is not a competition.

Entries must be original and can be either oils/acrylics; watercolor or watercolor with pen and ink; pastels, charcoals, pencil drawings, pen and ink; sculpture and mixed media; photography; or digital art.

Anyone who wishes to enter a piece and is not a member of the league can also become a member of the league.

Images should be emailed to Carla Binder at cmbinder@ptd.net no later than April 17.

The Carbon County Art League is a nonprofit organization that supports local artists of all ages and mediums. The group’s goals include informing and educating the public about art and also to encourage the public to appreciate art and support artists through the purchase of their art.

The next meeting of the league will be held on April 14 via Zoom.

The meeting will include an artist inspiration virtual event, which involves submitting a painting or photography by your favorite artist in advance of the meeting and sharing what you like about that artist’s work.

Members will be emailed a link to the meeting the week of the meeting.
