2021 primary election: Ballot positions are drawn in Carbon

Ballot positions - in races in which there are more than one candidate - for the May 18 primary election were drawn on Wednesday by the Carbon County Bureau of Elections in anticipation of preparing the ballots in the various municipalities.

The process took place at the election office’s temporary site, the former Jim Thorpe Area School District Administration Building, in upper Jim Thorpe, under the direction of Lisa Dart, elections director, and the watch of Commissioners Rocky Ahner and Chris Lukasevich, two of the three members of this year’s elections board. Commissioner Wayne Nothstein was absent.

The ballot positions represent the order in which candidates will appear on the respective ballots on May 18. They are as follows:

Democrats

Banks Township, supervisor, six-year term, one to be nominated: 1. David Mazur; 2. Rick Porpiglia.

East Penn Township, tax collector, four-year term, one to be nominated: 1. Wendy K. Kunkel; 2. Jacob Kratzer.

Bowmanstown Borough, council, four-year term, four to be nominated: 1. Robert Moyer; 2. Ben Price.

East Side Borough, council, four-year term, four to be nominated: 1. John Marotta; 2. Sharon Mrozinski; 3. Elizabeth Berger.

Jim Thorpe Borough, council, four-year term, four to be nominated: 1. Dennis J. McGinley Jr.; 2. Thomas Highland; 3. Michael S. Rivkin; 4. Joanne Klitsch.

Lansford Borough, mayor, four-year term, one to be nominated: 1. Hugh Vrablic; 2. Joseph Butrie.

Nesquehoning Borough, council, four-year term, three to be nominated: 1. Mary A. Fox; 2. Rosemary Porembo.

Palmerton Borough, council, four-year term, four to be nominated: 1. Randolph Gursky; 2. Alyson Nicole Krawchuk; 3. Kris W. Hoffner.

Summit Hill Borough, mayor, four-year term, one to be nominated: 1. Kevin M. Steber; 2. Jeffrey J. Szczecina.

Summit Hill Borough, council, two-year term, one to be nominated: 1. Michael L. Alabovitz; 2. Joseph F. Weber; 3. William J. O’Gurek Jr.

Summit Hill Borough, council, four-year term, three to be nominated: 1. Joseph F. Weber; 2. William J. O’Gurek Jr.; 3. Michael L. Alabovitz; 4. Todd Konstas.

Summit Hill Borough, tax collector, four-year term, one to be nominated: 1. Lacey Gonzalez; 2. Nathan R. Halenar.

Weatherly Borough, council, four-year term, four to be nominated: 1. Leslie Moyer; 2. Theresa L. D’Andrea.

Jim Thorpe Area School District, director, four-year term, four to be nominated: 1. Richard Flacco; 2. Jerry Strubinger; 3. Dennis J. McGinley Jr.; 4. Glenn F. Confer Sr.

Lehighton Area School District, director, four-year term, four to be nominated: 1. Walter Zlomsowitch; 2. Joy Beers; 3. Jay O. Barthel; 4. Dache Zelrick; 5. Jennifer Laible; 6. Kerry L. Sittler; 7. Gail Maholick; 8. Barbara A. Bowes.

Palmerton Area School District, director, four-year term, four to be nominated: 1. Stacey A. Connell; 2. Erin Snyder; 3. Earl J. Paules; 4. Danielle Paules.

Panther Valley School District, director, four-year term, four to be nominated: 1. Keith A. Krapf; 2. Steven Foster; 3. Shawn J. Hoben; 4. Renee DeMelfi.

Weatherly Area School District, director, four-year term, four to be nominated: 1. Barbara Sipler; 2. Kenneth Jacoby III; 3. Shay McGee; 4. Suzanne Wentzler; 5. Nancy Mulvaney.

Franklin Township, supervisor, six-year term, one to be nominated: 1. Thomas R. Beltz; 2. Jeff Kuklentz.

Kidder Township, supervisor, six-year term, two to be nominated: 1. Wilson D. Klotzman Jr.; 2. Bruce Berger.

Lower Towamensing Township, supervisor, six-year term, one to be nominated: 1. Terry Kuehner; 2. Jay Mullikin.

Mahoning Township, supervisor, six-year term, two to be nominated: 1. Bernard Mieczkowski; 2. Ronald R. Reeser; 3. Deborah K. McGowan.
