The Collections Bureau of the Carbon County Court of Common Pleas recently relocated to the former sheriff’s office on the second floor of the county courthouse in Jim Thorpe.

Dolores Scaran, bureau director, said the move was necessitated by the court system’s steadily growing caseload.

The bureau was established in 1983 by current President Judge John P. Lavelle. In 1995, the bureau collected $416,474 in fees and turned over to $231,414 of that total to the county, she said.

Scaran is assisted in the office by Madeline Ligenza, Heather Frantz and Lori Haydt.
