Schuylkill voters urged to return application

The Schuylkill County Elections Office is asking voters to return their completed permanent vote by mail annual application or the one canceling it.

Schuylkill County Elections Director Albert Gricoski said Wednesday 15,000 were sent out earlier this month. He said 1,000 have been received as of Wednesday, with most requesting to continue to vote by mail.

Those who receive such forms indicated previously they wanted to get an absentee or mail-in ballot for that election year they are eligible to vote in.

The form says if voters don’t want to receive ballots for this year to discard the form. Gricoski said the state gave voters the choice. If they don’t fill out the form, then they will not receive a mail-in or absentee ballot and will vote at the polls.

An online application can be completed by mail or online at votesPA.COM/ApplyMailBallot if voters decide otherwise.

Voters are encouraged to contact the Schuylkill County Elections Office with questions at 570-628-1467.

May 18 is the primary election. The last day to register to vote is May 3. Deadline to request a mail-in or absentee ballot is May 11.
