Stephen B. Barno, retiring Nesquehoning Boy Scout official, was honored by 225 people at a testimonial dinner held last night in St. John’s Russian Orthodox Church, Nesquehoning.

Barno, retiring because of ill health, started his scouting career as a community Scout commissioner and later because head of Cub Pack 144 and scoutmaster of Boy Scout Troop 144.

In recognition of his service, he was presented a radio from the church, which sponsors the troop and pack; a cash purse from the den mothers; and a desk set from the cubs and Scouts.

The guest speaker was Robert W. Steventon, Easton Junior High School principal and a former Nesquehoning Scout official.
