Parryville restaurant cited for violations

A Parryville business has been cited by the Pennsylvania State Police, Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement, Wilkes-Barre enforcement office for violating state mandates during the pandemic.

Police said River Walck Saloon was cited on Jan. 2 for allowing patrons to be seated at the bar during a state mandated restriction, not providing face masks for employees to wear at work and not requiring employees to wear face masks.

According to police, the restaurant permitted patrons to consume food and alcohol when not seated at tables, did not have at least 6 feet between parties at tables and did not have barriers where booths are back to back. Food or alcohol consumption was served inside the premises, when it was not permitted.

These charges will be brought before an administrative law judge who has the authority to impose penalties ranging from $50 to $1,000 for minor offenses and up to $5,000 for more serious offenses. In addition, the judge can also impose a license suspension or revocation based on the severity of the charge brought.
