St. John’s Lutheran Church, 319 South Ave., Jim Thorpe, has decided to suspend Sunday morning worship services for the month of February.

However, two brief services for the distribution of ashes on Ash Wednesday, Feb. 17, will be held, one at noon and one at 7 p.m. The services will be 15 minutes.

Although we will miss some of the early Lenten services, our hope is to reopen for the remainder prior to Holy Week.

The church council will meet in February to discuss reopening the church to the public, hopefully in March while following Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines.
