Kevin Steber has officially announced his campaign to become the next mayor of Summit Hill. Steber is running on the Democratic ballot.
A lifelong resident of Summit Hill, Steber is married to Kira (Michalik) Steber and has one daughter, Kacy. Steber is a 1995 graduate of Panther Valley High School and is currently employed at Versum Materials in Hometown as a chemical plant operator.
He has been dedicated to the borough for 30 years through his service with various emergency services, including currently serving as the Safety Officer for Diligence Fire Company No. 1, as well as serving as the borough’s Emergency Management Coordinator. He also has previously served as a borough councilman from 2004-2008.
“I’m committed to improving the community,” Steber says. “My goals, if elected, are to increase the police presence in the community and at community events; have a stronger enforcement of the Quality of Life ordinance; clean up the streets from disabled, abandoned and unregistered vehicles; and to crack down on drug distribution using borough, county and state law enforcement resources.
“I also promise to work with town leaders to evaluate current ordinances and to work toward common goals in keeping Summit Hill a safe community. No matter the issue, I am here to listen to our residents,” Steber says. “If you need me, I am just a phone call away.”
