The Hometown Volunteer Fire Company honored Michael Cappos on Sunday night during a reception at the fire company headquarters, recognizing his 40 years of service to the company and its fire police organization.

Cappos joined the fire company in 1955 and moved over to the fire police unit about five years ago.

Supervisor George Pinkey presented Cappos a “golden spatula” for all of the cooking he has gone through the years at fire company benefits while Paul Miller, fire police chief, presented the honoree a plaque on behalf of the firefighters and fire police officers.
