AG charges Schuylkill man with drug offenses

The Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General charged a Pine Grove man on drug offenses recently.

Koty Alan Morgan, 27, was charged with two counts each of manufacture, delivery, or possession with intent to deliver and possession of a controlled substance. A charge of possession of drug paraphernalia was also filed for the Jan. 5 incident. Agents found methamphetamine.

Thomas Sedor, a narcotics agent with the state attorney general Bureau of Narcotics Investigation and Drug Control, said agents conducted surveillance at Morgan’s home, 95 Geary Wolfe Road, having obtained a search and seizure warrant. Agents followed Morgan to Original Italian Pizza on Tulpehocken St. where he stopped. Upon identifying themselves, they searched Morgan and found three bags of methamphetamine, one weighing 23.5 grams and the others about 5 grams, court documents show. A digital scale, a cellphone and $105 were also found. He was then taken to the Pine Grove Police Station.

A search of his home found 50 grams methamphetamine and about 4 ounces marijuana, which later tested positive. Residue from both substances was also found on a digital scale.

Sedor said Morgan admitted to selling methamphetamine and marijuana from his home and in the county.

He was arraigned Friday on $50,000 unsecured bail. A preliminary hearing is set for 10 a.m. March 4 in Magisterial District Judge David Rossi’s courtroom.
