Tamaqua Chamber reorganizes

The Tamaqua Area Chamber of Commerce held its annual reorganization meeting on Jan. 7 and announced the election of three new directors, four incumbents and a new executive committee.

Linda Marchalk was elected as the new board president, while Kim Noel was elected as the new vice president.

Susan Fegley was elected as the new secretary and Ann Ostergaard was re-elected as the treasurer.

“We look forward to learning from and working with our new volunteer leaders,” the chamber said in a news release.

Alicia Silliman, Hometown Nursing and Rehab Center; Kyle Whitley, a representative from the Tamaqua Community Arts Center; and Kyle Lechleitner, manager of WHEEL, Tamaqua, were newly installed to the board of directors.

Ann Ostergaard, Heisler’s Dairy Bar; Anthony Odorizzi, Bowe and Odorizzi Law; Chris Henritzy, Delrose Awards; and Richard Hadesty, St. Luke’s Miners Campus were re-elected to the board of directors.

Directors returning to the board are Susan Fegley, Versum Materials, a subsidiary of Merck KGaA, Darmstadt, Germany; Mary Linkevich, Hawk Mountain; Kim Noel, WMGH; Manda Smarr, St. Jerome’s; Ann Marie Calabrese, borough of Tamaqua; Janene Holter, Tamaqua BPW; Ashley Securda, William Friedberg & Jones; John Luby, Tamaqua Salvation Army; Linda Marchalk, Northeast Abstract; Matthew Warden, Mauch Chunk Trust Company; Jennifer Drake, Independent Living Services; and Amber Zuber, Lehigh Carbon Community College.

The board will continue to meet on the first Thursday of each month on Zoom at 8 a.m. These meetings are open to all members. The chamber plans to resume its normal events and add some new ones in 2021.

Upcoming plans

Plans for the 2021 Summer Concert Series are underway. The Chamber Annual Community Dinner will be held in September.
