An elderly Lehigh County couple are the victims of fraud which has cost them thousands of dollars.

State police at Fogelsville said the couple, a man, 88 and woman, 81, of New Tripoli, reported they were the subject of fraud by their bank. She told troopers she provided banking and personal data to an unknown person posing as a member of Wells Fargo. The woman discovered that $13,030.27 of unauthorized charges originating from Kuwait were made to her debit account.

The investigation is continuing.
