Effort man facing DUI after Chestnuthill crash

State police at Fern Ridge reported on the following driving under the influence incidents:

• Joseph R. King, 25, of Effort, is facing charges of driving under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance after a one-vehicle crash at 9:07 p.m. Dec. 24 on Route 115 in Chestnuthill Township.

Police said he was driving a 2001 Buick northbound on Route 115 when he failed to negotiate a left curve in the road. The vehicle left the road, traveled behind the guide rail and went down a steep embankment, coming to rest in a creek.

The vehicle was towed from the scene. King was not injured in the crash.

Police said DUI charges are pending.

• A 25-year-old Effort man is facing charges of driving under the influence of alcohol after state police at the Fern Ridge responded to an incident at 9:07 p.m. Dec. 24 at the intersection of Route 115 and Russell Court in Chestnuthill Township.

Police said they found the man and a 2001 Buick he was driving down a steep embankment.

Police said after determining the man was under the influence of alcohol, they transported him to the Monroe County Correctional Facility, Snydersville, for a blood draw, the results of which are pending.
