Lehighton announces holiday decorating contest winners

Victors of the Lehighton Holiday Decorating Contest have been announced.

Borough council on a 5-0 vote last week approved the residential holiday light decorating contest winners. Councilman Ryan Saunders said he was impressed with how nicely the homes were decorated.

“I’d like to congratulate everyone,” Saunders said. “I think they all did a wonderful job this year.”

Councilwoman Autumn Abelovsky noted there were so many homes decorated that it was extremely difficult to narrow it down to just 10 winners.

Judging was held for the holiday lighting contest in the borough, and the winners were selected by a secret group of elves who toured the entire community.

The contest is sponsored by Lehighton Borough and the Lehighton Main Street Steering Committee.

Winners will receive a $25 discount on their utility bill.
