TACP annual meeting set for Thursday

The Tamaqua Area Community Partnership will hold its annual public meeting on Thursday.

“The annual meeting of the Tamaqua Area Community Partnership is a chance to look back at what was accomplished during the year and look ahead at what is planned,” Executive Director Micah Gursky said.

“Last year, we launched our Tamaqua Choose Happiness effort - a planning process to help connect many people in people and organizations in a way that will help people find a meaningful, fulfilled and connected life in our community. Too many people feel isolated and disconnected - even before COVID-19. Tamaqua provides great opportunities for financial success, a healthy life, connections to a sense of purpose, meaningful community engagement and positive social relationships even during a pandemic.”

Due to the pandemic, this year’s meeting will be held on a Zoom conference.

The workshop will feature an update on the Tamaqua Choose Happiness planning effort, the Tamaqua Community Arts Center, Hope & Coffee, Depot Square Park, CRIZ and many other TACP initiatives.

“No matter the challenges, Tamaqua has heart,” Gursky said. “Our people are resilient and continue to do amazing work. We’ve had new businesses open even during this pandemic and we have several great projects on the go. I’ve been doing this community work for 25 years now and I am always so impressed with the talent and dedication of the people in our town.”

The meeting is set to begin at 6 p.m. To get access to the workshop link, email your name and contact information to admin@tacp.info and a link will be sent.

“Bringing the community together to reflect on the year and look forward is so important. This will be the first time we do virtually, but I think people of all ages are now really good at virtual meetings.”
