Santa greets crowd in Parryville

Children and adults alike gathered around to watch Santa arrive via firetruck at the fourth annual Parryville tree lighting.

This year’s tree was donated by Beisel’s Christmas Tree Hill in Lehighton and was to be adorned with ornaments made by those in the town. Many of these ornaments from the past few years were made to honor loved ones and late pets and are hung by those whose created them.

The event featured live entertainment as Hannah Smith, a student of Lehighton Area High School, sang festive Christmas carols to the crowd.

Mayor Tom Kobal spoke at the event and announced that the Parryville Fire Department would provide funnel cakes to guests attending. Pairing well with the already offered goodies featuring hot chocolate and coffee.

As the Christmas tree lit up, children gathered around to tell Santa what they wanted this year for Christmas.
