Schuylkill County Director of Public Works Paul Fetterolf said Tuesday he wants to continue to ensure the county has enough personal protective equipment during the pandemic.

“I supply seven buildings and all the departments in the courthouse,” he said.

To that end, he is requesting the approval Wednesday to purchase PPE from Cablewholesale Inc., address not provided, to include disinfectant spray, cases of sanitizing wipes and hand sanitizing gel. Cost is $31,188.03. Agenda items are not acted upon at the weekly commissioner work sessions usually unless a motion is requested as in this instance.

“This is just to keep restocked. We are pretty well loaded with the stuff,” he said.

He said certain PPE are harder to get than others including gloves and spray. He said offices are also using a lot of disinfectant wipes.

If approved, Fetterolf said he will order the supplies, which will arrive in five to seven days.
