Firefighters save Smulligan Glass warehouse

A quick response by Tamaqua firefighters saved a vintage commercial structure early Saturday morning.

The fire was reported sometime after 3 a.m. as a working structure fire at 330 S. Center St., a warehouse of Smulligan Glass. When firemen arrived on scene they found flames and smoke showing from the structure.

The damage from the blaze appeared to be mostly interior.

Fire companies responding include Tamaqua, West Penn, Hometown, Coaldale, Summit Hill and Lansford.

Nesquehoning was put on standby status at Coaldale.
