The Pleasant Valley School District has received Safe Schools Targeted Grant funding to improve safety and security measures. The district received a $40,000 grant that will go toward training and compensating a school police officer. A second grant in the amount of $24,999 grant will be used to purchase security-related equipment.
This funding will enable Pleasant Valley to enhance its security efforts to ensure a safe learning environment for students, faculty and staff.
The Safe Schools Targeted Grant Program is administered by the Pennsylvania Department of Education and funded by the General Assembly in the 2020-21 state budget. More than $9 million in grant funding was awarded to schools statewide.
