The Tamaqua Area School Board hired a guidance counselor for the senior high school during its regular meeting held last month.

Janet Dolak, Bethlehem, was named to the position at a salary of $44,289, according to Superintendent Frederick T. Bausch.

Dolak replaces Jill Salmon, who resigned to accept a position at Nativity B.V.M. High School, Pottsville.

The board also hired several teachers, including Kimberly Hartenfels, Wapwallopen; Jaclyn Jones, Grove City; Sheri Ashman, Orwigsburg; Jay Daubert, Pottsville; Lynn Bonenberger, New Philadelphia; and Maria Shellhammer, Sheppton.
