Schuylkill commissioners renew software support agreement

Schuylkill County Commissioners approved spending $118,386.43 to renew a software support agreement to support the CAD I System at its meeting Thursday.

The system serves “all the data and all the calls,” County Administrator Gary Bender said.

Commissioners Barron “Boots” Hetherington and George Halcovage Jr. voted yes. Commissioner Gary Hess did not attend.

The agreement with Infor Emergency Systems, Tampa, Florida, covers 24/7 coverage for the system, which was installed on 2002, from Jan. 1 to Dec. 31, 2021.

The second system, CAD II, “is totally dependent on the Schuylkill County GIS (Geographic Information System),” Bender said.

He said the county is continuing to match addresses for the system.

“Our intent is to make it (the systems) better, quicker and more efficient as we go,” Hetherington said.
