James J. Herman, 221 Center St., Jim Thorpe, has been appointed Bridge Inspector for the Pennsylvania Division of the Jersey Central Lines, it was announced today by Bernard J. Minetti, chief engineer.

In other appointments announced today, John J. Maloney, Red Bank, New Jersey, becomes Master Carpenter of the New York and Long Island Railroad and Master Carpenter and Bridge Inspector of the Southern Division of the Jersey Central Lines, effective Nov. 1.

At the same time, Robert W. Bodell, Fair Haven, New Jersey, was named Bridge Inspector for the New York and Long Island Railroad and the Central’s Central Division.
