Monroe man had explosives

A Monroe County man was found with explosive devices and materials, according to state police at Stroudsburg.

Troopers said on Tuesday, Sept. 29, a traffic stop was conducted along Manor Drive in Hamilton Township. The driver was identified as Tristan Thomas Shook, 32, of Stroud Township.

Shook was found to be in possession of explosive material and related items used to manufacture explosive devices. He also had a “pipe bomb” device containing BBs.

Shook was under supervised release by the state parole board at the time of his arrest.

He was charged with explosive devices/recklessly endangering and related counts. He is currently an inmate in the county prison.

Troopers Ian MacMillan and Justin Leri, criminal investigation unit, are in charge of the investigation with the assistance of troopers with the hazardous device and explosives section and special agents with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
