Packer extends emergency declaration

Packer Township supervisors made quick work of September business, extending the declaration of emergency for 60 days, into mid-November.

Supervisors Bob Selert and Terry Davis want to get some drain pipes replaced before winter comes, including one along Round Head Road to be installed today, and the other on Grist Mill Drive at Nyers.

Township solicitor Robert Yurchak reported progress on the final language for the proposed zoning ordinance changes, saying that some information has come back from Carbon Engineering.

Barry Isett & Associates sent their report on code violations, reporting an issue on Hudson Drive resolved.

A meeting at the end of August with Atlantic Carbon representatives and two DEP staff looked over a mine reclamation project.

The township will be receiving some documents from DEP about the progress at the site.

Sewage enforcement officer Bill Brior sent a reports of one full set of tests done for a property, along with a malfunction inspection, and a review of a subdivision plan.

Supervisor Cory Gerhard and Secretary-Treasurer Stephanie Stolpe also attended, as did one resident.

The October meeting will be Oct. 6, via Zoom and in person at the municipal building in Hudsondale, starting at 6 p.m.
