A look back: Sept. 30, 1989

The Pleasant Valley School Board voted Thursday night to hire a Slatington man as its new high school assistant principal.

Robert B. Mack, the current head of the mathematics department at Northern Lehigh High School, will take over as assistant principal in early November. He will replace Anthony Fadule, who left last summer to accept a position with the Crestwood Area School District near Wilkes-Barre.

Mack is a 1967 graduate of Slatington High School who received a secondary education degree in 1971 from Kutztown University and a master’s degree in educational administration in 1988 from Lehigh University. He was one of 22 people who were interviewed for the job.
