The Pennsylvania Department of Health reported Tuesday that there were 988 additional positive cases of COVID-19, bringing the statewide total to 157,814.

Centre County, where Penn State is located, is reporting an increase of 103 cases.

There are 8,123 total deaths attributed to COVID-19, an increase of 16 new deaths reported. In nursing and personal care homes, there are 22,846 resident cases of COVID-19, and 5,047 cases among employees, for a total of 27,893 at 977 distinct facilities in 61 counties. Out of our total deaths, 5,436 have occurred in residents from nursing or personal care facilities.

Approximately 10,710 of our total cases are among health care workers.

Carbon County is reporting two additional case for a total of 467, with 28 deaths.

Lehigh County has 5,669 positives, an increase of 32 cases, with 353 deaths.

Luzerne County has 12 additional cases, for a total of 4,126, with 190 deaths.

Monroe County has 1,801 cases, an increase of four, with 133 deaths.

In Northampton County, there are 4,513 cases, an increase of 10, with 305 deaths.

In Schuylkill County, 15 more cases have been confirmed, for a total of 1,160. There are 52 deaths.
